Marius Ueffing, PhD heads the newly established Department of Protein Science at the Helmholtz Zentrum München (www.helmholtz-muenchen.de/en).

He has a previous background as group leader in pharmaceutical industry (Goedeke-Parke-Davis) as well as in a University Medical Centre (LMU-München).

M. Ueffing acts as the Vice President of the German Society for Proteome Research,
he coordinates a research cluster within the BMBF Program "QuantPro" on proteomics and participate in several large scale and/or targeted projects on the EU level most importantly "Interaction Proteome" (www.interaction-proteome.org) focussed on the development of analytics for functional proteomics and "ProteomeBinders" (www.proteomebinders.org) focussed on Affinity Proteomics, and SMP Proteomics-Human Brain’ (www.smp-proteomics.de).
